Started with standard DokuWiki. I wanted to let users easily make a new page linked to a question page without editing the question. I'd like to be able to lock a page and still get the links. Backlinks does it, but not how I want. So I used namespaces. A namespace is a list of pages and contained namespaces. So you can have a hierarchy of lists containing other lists but you don't have to. I found a way to add a button to a page; click the button and you start editing a new page which will be in the first page's namespace. NEWPAGE
“nspages” at the bottom of the page lists the pages in the list that link to that page.
I wanted to let people write pages describing volunteer efforts, each with a button that lets potential volunteers send their names and email addresses. I could get a sort of adequate result with the BUREAUCRACY plugin. It allows fields that people can enter name and email address, and email them to whoever wrote the page.
But we already have name and email for authenticated users. I'd rather use those. BUREAUCRACY forms allow 216.73.216.97 etc but it's ugly on the volunteer page, though it's fine on the email. DATA and STRUCT allow great flexibility but they require a database which is an internal complication I'd rather avoid. Though it might all be hidden so I don't have to maintain it; maybe that would be OK.
I'm trying to arrange hidden forms in BUREAUCRACY that would be sent in the email but not show on the user form. But so far it looks like those are designed to be hidden until the user chooses them, and then displayed. They don't go into the email while they're hidden. Or maybe I jus didn't find out how.
